Enforcing our Contract with CVESD
The grievance procedure (Article 7) is one tool of enforcing the Collective Bargaining Agreement (contract) and protecting the rights of members. It's most effective when school sites are well organized and willing to take action to demonstrate solidarity. Otherwise, administration can turn the grievance procedure into a means of dragging out or providing weak resolutions. Therefore, it is crucial to incorporate grievances into our larger organizing strategy of building union power. If you think you have a grievance, do your homework! Meet with your site representative and determine:

CVE members have the legal right to a safe and healthy workplace. Members with questions about a possible contract violation should contact your site representative. If you believe your rights have been violated, work with your site rep and area rep to initiate the grievance process at your site. Site rep's can contact a the grievance chair for more information.
